I am a PhD student in the Computer Science Department at the University of Colorado at Boulder and a computational scientist for TerraSpark Geosciences. I completed my Bachelors in Computer Engineering at the University of Minnesota where I was a research assistant at the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute under David Yuen. I have also spent time working with Henry Tufo at the National Center for Atmospheric Research.
My research interests are in large-scale numerical simulation, visualization, and image processing. My past research has included collaborations in Plant Pathology, Geology and Geophysics, Computational Biology, and Mechanical Engineering. I recently proposed my PhD thesis in the area of using implicit surfaces for the 3-D interpretation of seismic data and hope to finish my dissertation in late 2008 or early 2009.
I live in Boulder with my wife Sara and spend my free time running trails and competing in road races, biking up the canyons west of town, and backcountry skiing in the Indian Peaks. Many would call this the quintessential Boulder lifestyle ;-)
