I am a scientist (PostDoc) working at NCAR (National Center for Atmospheric Research) in Boulder/Colorado (USA) and University of Colorado at Boulder. Currently I am working on the efficient numerical realization of transport schemes for atmospheric modeling and their coupling to spectral elements. A new dynamical core of CAM (Community Atmosphere Model) is based on HOMME-SE (High-Order Method Modeling Environment - Spectral Elements). We want to replace the tracer advection scheme of SE by a multi-tracer Semi-Lagrangian scheme.
Further research interests are cell-centered finite volume method, finite volume element method, boundary element method and the coupling of finite volume methods and boundary element method: (a priori analysis, posteriori error estimation, adaptivity, mesh refining, diffusion-convection-reaction problems, numerical verfication)

I hold a PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) in Mathematics from the University of Ulm (Ulm, Germany). The title of my PhD thesis is

Coupling of the Finite Volume Method and the Boundary Element Method
Theory, Analysis, and Numerics

I got my Diploma/Master (Dipl.-Ing.) in Mathematics in Computer Science from the Vienna University of Technology (Vienna, Austria). The title of my Diploma thesis (in German) is
Adaptive Finite Volumen Methode
